It's also extremely smart. Dual 32-bit SHARC processors handle THX Surround EX, DTS-ES Discrete 6.1, DTS-ES Matrix 6.1, Dolby Digital, and Pro Logic decoding. The AVR-5800 also offers all the Lucasfilm Home THX Cinema enhancements required for THX Ultra certification. Its dual processors also provide Widescreen 7.1 processing, which delivers 7.1-channel sound with stereo, matrix-encoded, and discrete 5.1 sources, and Denon's renowned AL 24 (ALPHA 24) processing, which uses sophisticated interpolation to produce analog smoothness from stereo digital audio (for sources with resolutions between 16-bit and 24-bit).
These are all part of Denon's DDSC-Digital (Dynamic Discrete Surround Circuit) configuration, which treats your surround audio to a series of optimized, single-function circuit blocks, ensuring impeccable quality. Another key element is the D/A conversion section, which uses 16 high-resolution 192kHz/24-bit DACs (2 per channel) in differential configuration. The result? Simply stunning sound!
